Looking to socialise and have a fun time, rather than a niche genre? See our recommendation of the biggest clubs in the city. Most have many different rooms playing different genres.
Something for everyone!
Szimpla Kert- With several bars and live music, this garden is a true gem of the city we really suggest you don’t skip. Super unique interior on several floors, with maze-like interior. It’s hard to describe, because there’s nothing else like it.
Instant-Fogas - The go to for most tourists visiting Budapest. Massive ruin club, with several halls ranging from latin, and pop all the way to EDM, spread across several floors. It’s the ideal place if you’re looking for a social atmosphere. It gets crowded on the weekends so expect a long queue.
Füge Udvar - Ruin pub and club, with a unique beer garden-like atmosphere, burgers, arcade games and several dance floors. This place is massive, and there’s a downstairs area that's a whole new world compared to the upstairs venue.
Morrisons 2 - Similar concept to Instant, but in our opinion, not executed as well. It’s cheap, there are many different rooms, and people mostly go for socialising. Experiences and reviews are very mixed, so keep that in mind.
Ötkert- Popular outdoor club with many different genres from Monday to Sunday, and a somewhat unique interior. Bit of a stereotypical clubbing experience.

Toldi Klub - Art cinema turned into a club at night. One of the most popular alternative clubs in Budapest. Worth checking their socials as the genres vary.
Központ- Rather small bar and underground club, with varying genres of music.
Telep Art Gallery - As the name suggests, this “skater bar” also functions as an art gallery with live music. Gets full fast, so you might have to be outside, but the vibes are immaculate!
Easy Art Space - Easy is a cool spot for art lovers, with a gallery, bar, and electronic music. Chill in style indoors, unwind in the cozy garden, or sip drinks on the laid-back sunset terrace!
Nemdebár - Funky, unique and artistic little bar with mostly small, local artists.

Venues not limited by a single genre! Kept alive by big international names and local artists alike. Check their websites before going!
Dürer Kert - One of the most well known venues in Budapest, with indoor area and a massive garden, it almost feels like attending a festival. It being located next to the river only adds to the vibe! Mostly hosting rock & metal, but often hosting EDM, and other genres as well.
A38 Ship - Yes, it’s a club on a boat (although stationary). They host many different genres, but regularly have EDM, Rock, Reggaeton, Jazz, Drum and bass, and much more!
Akvárium - Probably the place hosting the biggest names on this list. A rather big venue in the heart of the city, with genres reaching both sides of the spectrum.
Turbina - Mostly techno, but also other genres in a nice, alternative environment. Hosts events several times a week so check their website.

Techno / House:
Arzenál - Warehouse venue giving space to techno and other genres like house,dubstep and drum and bass, so check their schedule. It’s located outside of the city centre!
D9 Dark Nine- If you’re looking for that Berlin rave scene kind of atmosphere, look no further. Booking tickets in advance is recommended, as even with 2 floors they can get full. The club's location changed to here, quite far outside the city, the location on google is wrong!
Turbina - Mostly techno (but also other genres) in a nice alternative environment. Events several times a week so check their website.
Fabrika Budapest - Small private club in an industrial building, with family-like atmosphere and great underground rave vibes. Mostly techno and occasionally house music.
Aether - Small techno/house club with great lights, but rather touristy and relatively expensive.
House:
There aren’t many dedicated clubs for house music, but plenty of events. We suggest this websitefor a decent collection of them, or search for events on Facebook.
House event series:
🌞Summer & Spring:
Some of the bigger house events during the summer are House Piknik, Santsat, Castle Grooves, and Lavalava.
❄️Winter & Fall:
Outside the summer season, you’ll have to search on this website mentioned above, or on Facebook. One company regularly organising in the winter is Be Massive Horizon.
Clubs hosting mostly house:
Pontoon - Outdoor bar right by the river with amazing views and live music. Perfect for a summer night! Although reviews regarding the staff have been very poor lately, we still think it’s an experiment worth checking because of the surroundings.
Selecta - A UK Garage organiser. Check their website for events and respective venues.
Dubstep and Drum and Bass:
Despite Budapest's vibrant Drum and Bass & Dubstep scene, there are no dedicated clubs. However, many promoters host events across the city, often in unique summer locations like castles and factories, featuring international artists.

Alterego - Midnight drag-show with clubbing.
Garcons Budapest - The biggest gay monthly party in East Central Europe.
